Isto Intents: for the things you cannot add to a cart

Whitepaper, draft v0.1, October 2026 — AutoIsto s. r. o.
1. The evening ritual#
Buying a used car or a home is a search problem disguised as a shopping problem. The thing you want is not in any catalogue yet. When it appears, it exists in exactly one copy, on one of dozens of sites, and it may be gone in days. So people do the only thing available: they come back every evening, retype the same filters on five sites, and hope they are not too late.
Sellers live the mirror image. A dealer with exactly the car someone is looking for does not know that this someone exists. They pay for visibility and guess.
Both sides hold half of the answer, and nothing connects them except repetition.
2. One sentence instead of five tabs#
With Isto Intents a buyer says once, in their own words, what they want — "an Octavia estate, diesel, under €15,000, by Christmas" — and how long they are looking. From then on the operator they chose keeps looking for them and tells them when something worth their time appears. They can withdraw the wish at any moment, with one click from any message.
They may also tell the operator, privately, how far they would really go. That number stays with the operator. Nobody else ever sees it.
3. What each side gains#
Buyers stop refreshing. One wish covers many sites at once, not one site's shelf. Their contact stays with the one operator they trust; sellers never receive it.
Sellers and dealers see real demand before they buy stock or pay for ads: how many people are looking for something like what they have, in their region and price range — always as a count of people, never as people. Later they will be able to answer a buyer's wish directly.
AI assistants get somewhere to put a wish that outlives the chat. An assistant can hand the person's wish to an operator over MCP and come back later for the results, while the person confirms everything on the operator's own page.
Partners and portals get buyers who come back without being asked, through an interface anyone can implement.
4. Built on what already exists#
2025–2026 brought open protocols for AI agents that shop: ACP and UCP for checkout, AP2 and Verifiable Intent for authorising a purchase. They are excellent at the moment of buying, and they all start after the buyer has found the item.
Isto Intents covers the part before: the weeks of looking. When a wish turns into a purchase, it hands over to those protocols instead of competing with them.
5. Privacy as a promise, not a setting#
- The buyer's contact never leaves the operator they chose.
- Interest shown to sellers is always aggregated, and small numbers are never shown at all.
- Consent is asked once, in plain words, can be withdrawn from every message, and everything is deleted within 30 days after the wish ends.
- For homes, nobody can search by who the neighbours are: protected characteristics simply cannot be expressed.
- An AI assistant acting for a buyer or a seller says that it is one to the other side.
- No money moves through the protocol.
6. Where it starts#
The first operators are AutoIsto (used cars) and LivinIsto (homes) in Slovakia and Czechia — sites that already bring together listings from across both countries. That is where standing wishes go live first.
7. Invitation#
Isto Intents is an open interface: any portal, dealer or assistant can connect to it. The specification is free to use under CC BY 4.0. If you would like to be among the first partners, write to us at AutoIsto s. r. o.
